Our mission

PostPlaza exists to build a world where people truly own their speech and network.

TL;DR

PostPlaza is a Web3 social network on the Polygon blockchain. Every post is an NFT, and every profile is a collection of NFT posts. All of the data, including the social graph, is stored on-chain. It is designed to enable users to own their posts and network. All interactions are gas-free, so it’s fully usable with an empty wallet.

Introduction

The past year has shown us how powerful web2 platform owners are. But it’s also shown us how powerful web3 communities can be. We’re starting to see faint glimmers of a future where the internet belongs to the community.

It started with ENS, a way to tie an identity to our wallets.

Then CryptoKitties showed us how we could have communities form up around NFT based games. Beeple sold his Everydays NFT for $69 million, breaking NFTs onto the mainstream. Not long after, PFPs started taking off and huge communities were built around our digital identities. All of this organic community growth was centered around assets which communities, not companies, controlled.

Web2 platforms like Twitter and YouTube have flexed their muscles.

They own everyone’s posts, likes, and network. They’re not elected and users have no say in their decisions. Any arbitrary joke or offhand comment can get the network that you spent years building deleted. We’ve seen this with the AAVE founder getting banned from Twitter, The Pomp Podcast banned from YouTube, and Bankless banned from YouTube.

Platforms should not have the power to delete your network or posts. Your social property should belong to you.

By holding our social property hostage, platforms are not being held accountable. We should be able to exit to different platforms with our network and posts.

It’s time for the next evolution in the Crypto story… social NFTs.

These are NFTs which have social networks built around them. The next step after bringing crypto to web2 social platforms, is to have web3 native social platforms.

PostPlaza is releasing a community owned web3 platform on Polygon that is going to reinvent what a social platform can be. Every post is an NFT, and every profile holds a collection of NFT posts. All of the data, including the social graph, is stored on-chain. All interactions are gas-free, so it’s fully usable with an empty wallet.

If someone wants to use a different platform or frontend, they can take their network and posts with them.

But how can we compete with huge web2 platforms?

We can compete using the economic benefits that property rights give. Property rights incentivize creation, from building homes to creating an invention. Without property rights we wouldn’t be able to easily monetize our efforts. People will naturally move to platforms that support their social property rights.

On PostPlaza, post NFTs can be bought and sold directly while browsing. See a post from a creator you like? Buy it to support them and to own a share of their online presence.
